Spiky Architectural Plants
At Scalp Wood Nurseries we have put together a special collection of exotic looking plants. Some are spiky, some have big leaves, some look tropical, but all are evergreen. In the jargon of horticulture these are known as 'Architectural Plants', because the plants themselves have their own 'architecture' - strong, sometimes spectacular, shapes which bring a distinctive year round presence to the garden.
Because of the architectural nature of many of our plants, its easy to use them in the garden to create a feeling of being ‘somewhere else’. These include:
- Agave
- Cordylines
- Phormium
- Yucca
